    Description

    + Write concepts, positioning statements and fact sheets with innovative claims to support each new launch/innovation

    + Write and create strong communication claims and ensure the formula contains all actives necessary to make those claims. Ensure those claims are supported by legal and through clinical testing

    + Ideate strong concepts and power claims to support every launch and re⁃promote

    + Develop strong clinical, sensory, and in⁃vitro testing support plans

    + Work with BSR to ensure strong actives list/technology platform and develop key storytelling behind product launch concept, with alignment from all stakeholders ⁃ BSR, Legal, MKTG, Regions

    + Drive key milestones and problem solve

    + Lead communications with counterparts (R&D) to support the development process. Direct R&D in the detailed development of new or reformulated products. Approve PFA Lab Standard, FVL, Pilot and First Production Batches in a timely matter

    + Drive the completion of all support materials and presentations, including Claims and Formula Dossiers, Product Profiles, Turnover Presentations, and RoundTable Slides

    + Provide quality training and development for own direct reports

    + Coordinate sharing samples and getting feedback from senior management and the regions

    + Review all PR and Education materials and Copy for alignment of communication and ensure accuracy of content

    + Work with Marketing, Packaging and R&D in the development process

    + Keep Management informed of project status & issues

    + Keep a pulse on worldwide competitive activity and trends and attend industry conferences and lectures

    Marketing

    + Identify new product opportunities for EL. Actively lead and contribute to calendar meetings, MKTG/PD statuses, etc

    + Actively seek out new trends and opportunities that will further support and provide growth to EL Skincare business

    + Participate in meetings to clearly communicate a product's development progress

    + Attend status calls/meetings as the project lead to communicate and hear project updates

    + Provide constant daily communication on major changes to a product that may affect the launch date

    R&D

    + Attend R&D status days at Melville 2/x per month

    + Clearly direct aesthetic details of product to be developed

    + Develop strong clinical and sensory claims testing plans and initiate on time

    + Review Safety/Sensory test requests and send out to R&D

    + Troubleshoot with R&D to resolve challenges

    + Evaluate and approve sensory test questionnaires

    + Work closely with the Asia lab and/or outside contractors BSR

    + Ensure strong list of technologies that support claims

    + Work with BSR on strong story telling on technology and in⁃vitro support

    + Create strong concepts based on key insights and technology story telling

    Packaging

    + Provide clear direction to Packaging on all formulation aspects including ingredients, actives, viscosity, color, as well as formula limitations

    + Evaluate and approve proposed package submissions for evacuation, aesthetics, & functionality

    + Expand our packaging options by meeting with Suppliers

    + Ensure team obtains components for test samples

    Education/Communication

    + Write product profiles and present product details at Turnover meetings

    + Review and approve all Education & PR materials

    + Answer all follow up qts from Education and PR after turnover Creative (Copy, Advertising, Design)

    + Present new products informally in copy brief mtgs

    + Review and approve all copy as it routes

    + Supply product samples

    Qualifications

    + 12+ years related experience.

    + College degree/MBA preferred.

    + Strong presenter; Must be able to persuasively communicate new product ideas and concepts to both internal and external groups.

    + Must be exceptionally creative and innovative, and be able to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly.

    + Deep knowledgeable of the Product Development process.

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    + Highly flexible and adaptable to handle ever-changing priorities.

    + Highly detail oriented, responsive, extremely organized, and reliable.

    + Must be a driver of results, ensuring that all key milestones are met in a timely manner.

    + Sound knowledge/expertise of Skin and knowledge of science/ technical concepts.

    + Experience in people management, training, and development.

    + Proven track record of successful new product innovations; proven ability to develop innovative products from concept to launch.

    + Hard worker and demonstrated leadership on a cross-functional basis.

    + Must possess superior treatment evaluation skills.

    + Effective negotiator; able to gain cooperation at all levels, inside and outside the department.

    + Experience in successfully organizing and managing multiple complex development programs.

    + Excellent partnering/teamwork skills; proven ability to influence team members without direct reporting accountability.

    + Must have strong leadership skills and excellent problem solving and decision making abilities.

    + Needs to be highly organized and able to prioritize effectively.

    + A broad and comprehensive understanding of the global skin care market.

    + Ability to establish priorities, procedures and policies effectively.

    + Proficient computer skills especially Powerpoint, Word, and Excel.

    + Ability to travel.
