As a **Sr Principal Architect** at **JPMorgan Chase** within the **Consumer and Community Banking-Core Platform Engineering** , you are the driving force to develop high-quality architecture solutions/patterns for various core platform areas, ranging from Infra as a code for hybrid cloud and on-prem infra provisioning, canary and blue/green deployment, to event driven micro service architectures, etc. You drive significant business impact and help shape the target state architecture through your capabilities in multiple architecture domains.
This role requires a deep understanding of platform engineering, as well as a strategic mindset and thought leadership to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities
+ Advise cross-functional teams on technology selection to achieve target state architecture and decisions on improvements to current technologies.
+ Develop multi-year roadmaps aligned with business and architecture strategy and priorities
+ Create complex and scalable platforms and coding frameworks using appropriate software design
+ Develop secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
+ Serve as the function's go-to subject matter expert
+ Contribute to the development of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies
+ Create durable, reusable software frameworks that improves velocity and quality of output across teams and functions
+ Champion the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
+ Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
+ Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
+ Expertise in Java programming language.
+ Deep knowledge in building platform and infrastructure as services
+ Advanced knowledge of software architecture, application development, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., public cloud, Infra and API observability, etc.)
+ Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems in one or more technical disciplines
+ Strong understanding of observability principles, including logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting.
+ Ability to present and effectively communicate to senior leaders and executives
+ Practical cloud native experience
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
+ Strong presentation and communication skills
+ Experience on Infra and Platform as a Service, canary and blue/green deployment, progressive rollout.
+ Experience with OpenTelemetry and observability tools and platforms such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, Jaeger, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, or similar.
+ Gen-AI and ML experiences a plus
