The Buyer will manage the replenishment for fresh protein and protein products (i.e., packaging) to ensure adequate supply on hand while meeting or exceeding key performance indicators. Ensure pricing accuracy and look for opportunities to improve plant profitability.

This role is 100% onsite at the N Las Vegas Stockyards location. Schedule is Monday - Friday 6AM - 3PM

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Work with plant, region division and corporate staff to recommend buying needs specific to the Stock Yards Meat Products (demand, spot buys, position buys, forward buys, etc.),

+ Work with other departments within the division (Operations, Inventory Control and Sales) to monitor and coordinate “aging” and inventory levels for customer owned/contracts and customer-specific products.

+ Support replenishment processes as follows:

+ Demand Changes

+ Warehouse quality issue identification and resolution.

+ Assists with daily/weekly communication to Broadline and effectively communicates on inventory requests and concerns that affect Sales.

+ Manage inventory to ensure adequate supply while meeting or exceeding key service levels’ performance indicators,including the following:

+ Inventory Loss Minimization

+ Days Inventory on Hand (DIOH)

+ Customer Order Fill Rates

+ Excess and Obsolete Inventory Reserve

+ Special Order Response Time

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training: Four-year college degree in business, operations, supply chain management or related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience (High School diploma or GED required). Minimum 3 year of meat purchasing experience required with knowledge of proteins and a good understanding of the various customers (internal/external).

**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities** : Must be able to effectively exercise independent judgment and decision making in executing replenishment and inventory management activities; maintain subject matter expertise in proteins.

Must be able to foster vendor relationships while achieving performance objectives, possessing a high degree of professionalism, tact, and persistence. Must possess superior analytical skills and communication skills, and the ability to solve complex problems in an expeditious fashion. Proficiency required in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as Microsoft Outlook.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between

$50,000 - $80,000
