Overview
The Manager Talent Development will be responsible for promoting talent development solutions and fostering partnerships with all internal clients, across all functions (e.g., sales, supplier/product education, national accounts, marketing, national call center etc.). This position requires a visionary leader with exceptional business acumen, strong relationship-building skills, and a deep understanding of talent development practices and trends. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and contributing to the overall growth strategy of the talent development department.
Primary Responsibilities
+ Act as a consultant to the business - identify, recommend, and promote talent development solutions to address the talent factors affecting the client’s ability to reach its strategic objectives.
+ Conduct detailed assessments of clients’ training requirements; collaborate with internal teams to develop and deliver customized talent development solutions that meet client requirements.
+ Develop and execute campaigns (e.g., e-internal newsletters, success stories), phone calls, and emails to promote talent development’s services and attract new clients.
+ Develop strategies to elevate career development and internal mobility in the organization; develop and align external partnership learnings to employee career paths; build learning journeys (by channel/convenience store, independent store etc.)
+ Support and promote assigned vendor relationships (e.g., Guild); identify opportunities to increase employee engagement; review and align services with the learning strategy; monitor services to ensure that they meet contractual agreement standards.
+ Based on client interactions, identify opportunities to improve/rebrand talent development programs (e.g., during OND); identify competencies and recommend updates.
+ In partnership with Talent Development Analyst, leverage data and analytics to track client and employee adoption, usage, and consumption of learning offerings.
+ Design, develop, and maintain all SharePoint applications and sites; ensure consistency and continuity among all applications.
+ Create and sustain a culture of continuous, self-directed learning in the organization.
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience strongly preferred.
+ Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, marketing, or a related field with experience in corporate sales or a related area in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) business operations is preferred.
+ Proven experience in business development, lead generation, managing relationships with business partners and clients to support organization-wide talent development programs.
+ Proven consulting experience in working with executives and senior leaders.
+ Strong understanding of talent development practices, trends, and challenges; knowledge of or interest in emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Extended Reality (XR), and a passion for emerging trends in educational technology.
+ Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data, identify opportunities, and develop actionable plans.
+ Demonstrated project management skills, including prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
+ Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
+ Demonstrated competence in HRIS/LMS (preferred, not required).
+ Expertise in design, development, and maintenance of SharePoint applications and sites (preferred, not required).
+ Working knowledge of retail and supplier business systems, demonstrated experience in wine and spirits product knowledge (preferred, not required).
+ Travel 20-30%

+ Physical demands include considerable time spent sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or mobile device.
+ Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping.
+ May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs.
