Reporting to the Director of Development at Cantor Arts Center, the Manager of Grants and Donor Relations (2 year fixed-term) will play a significant role in supporting Cantor’s fundraising apparatus. This position will be responsible for successfully obtaining grants to support the museum's exhibitions and programs, as well as reporting on the impact of all types of funding for both institutional and individual donors. This role will develop a collaborative approach to work closely with key stakeholders, including colleagues in other Cantor departments, Stanford Arts, the Office of Development, and the Office of Sponsored Research. In addition, this role will author impact reports and engagement activities that highlight the museum’s achievements and communicate to our donors how important their gifts are to our success.
In this role, you will:
+ Identify and analyze potential grant opportunities for Cantor’s exhibitions, programs, and other operations
+ Research, write, and provide oversight for projects that motivate prospects and organizations to donate and/or steward existing donors, including drafting acknowledgments, stewardship reports and updates, proposals, and other communications to key groups of prospects and donors.
+ Manage communication for stewardship events, including invitations, briefings for museum leadership and hosts, collateral and follow up correspondence while working closely with the events team.
+ Track and maintain the accuracy of stewardship and grant activity, the gift acknowledgment process, stewardship requests, and news stories relevant to the museum.
+ Proactively monitor and manage the stewardship needs of individual and institutional donors, and build a complete understanding of each donor's involvement and giving activity.
+ Serve as the team’s liaison by building relationships with other communications and stewardship officers throughout the university, including OOD’s Central Communication and Stewardship team, and subsequently setting priorities for annual stewardship and communication efforts for the museum, following OOD guidelines.
+ Continually implement a creative, consistent, and donor-centric stewardship and communication program, including potential graphic design.
+ Manage the workflow of multiple deliverables across institutes and with several team members.
+ Collaborate with the Stanford Arts’ fundraisers and fundraisers in other development units to create meaningful messaging and build open channels with the university and OOD broadly.
+ Promote the museum’s fundraising goals internally, including preparing updates to help keep development colleagues informed, updating the Gift Opportunities Tool (GOT), and attending internal meetings to identify opportunities that involve unit-wide participation.

Please note that this position will be based on the Stanford campus and will be considered a hybrid role with 2 or more days/week on campus. This position may need to work extended or non-standard hours, weekends and holidays based on business needs.
In order to be successful,** **you will bring:
+ Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
+ Demonstrated commitment to fostering and supporting an inclusive environment.
+ Experience with grant writing, preferably for an arts organization.
+ Excellent writing skills
+ Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into clear, accurate, persuasive prose.
+ Highly developed communication skills, with a proven ability to listen attentively and articulate complex information clearly, concisely, and with diplomacy to a variety of audiences.
+ Possess strong strategic and analytical capabilities, evidenced by meticulous attention to detail, intellectual vitality, wide-ranging curiosity, and a deep appreciation for academic inquiry.
+ Demonstrated proficiency in information management, including conducting research across multiple university databases and systems, managing data using Excel and other relevant applications, and collaborating effectively with staff responsible for maintaining donor and stewardship information.
+ Exceptional organizational skills, including the proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently (sometimes with ambiguity), coordinate the contributions of various stakeholders, establish priorities and timelines, meet deadlines with minimal supervision, and ensure clear communication of project status to all collaborators.
+ Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues possessing different work styles.
+ Demonstrated capacity for learning and knowledge acquisition.
+ Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information.

**The expected pay range for this position is $107,167 - $115,229 per annum** .
