    Physical Therapy Dept. - PRN (not benefit-eligible) - Saturday 8:30-12:30, 1 shift/month minimum

     

    Assists occupational and physical therapists during therapy sessions. Supports clinical care by cleaning equipment, ordering supplies, and other administrative functions as indicated.

    Required Education:

    High school diploma or GED or equivalent

    Recommended Education:

    Associate's Degree in a related field of study.

    Required Work Experience:

    Entry Level - Experience not Required.

    Recommended Work Experience:

    Formal education may substitute for work experience on a year-for-year basis (eg., one year of education = one year of experience)

    Description

    1. Assists occupational and physical therapists during direct patient care sessions. Safely transports or escorts a patient to the therapy session.

    2. Communicates any changes in a patient’s condition to the therapist, nurse, or other medical professional.

    3. Serves as a life guard for the therapy pool.

    4. Verifies the accuracy of the therapist’s charges. Reports any documentation discrepancies to the appropriate team members.

    5. Disinfects toys and equipment in compliance with infection control and regulatory guidelines.

    6. Records heat and cold modality temperatures and performs eyewash station procedures. Records documentation findings on the appropriate log.

    7. Reports unsafe equipment to therapy staff and/or leadership team and follows appropriate procedures.

    8. Serves as the Departmental Safety Coordinator as assigned.

    9. Maintains supply inventory in clinical areas. Orders supplies from the appropriate area or vendor.

    10. Stocks linens in the designated clinical areas. Notifies the linen service when additional items are required.

    11. Demonstrates knowledge and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.

    12. Maintains a positive attitude while demonstrating the adaptability necessary to effectively respond to changing departmental needs.

    13. Communicates information clearly and concisely in a manner that is not offensive. Helps others understand and retain the message. Utilizes active listening skills.

    14. Committed to providing a positive patient experience by modeling Arkansas Children’s values to patients, families, guests, and team members.

    15. Completes additional duties as assigned.
