    About the role

     

    We are seeking a full-time Laboratory Technician who will be responsible for sample preparation in PFAS, among other tasks. This individual will be responsible for following all safety and quality guidelines while maintaining a satisfactory production level. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    Responsibilities

    About you:

    + Performing laboratory tests as outlined by the SOPs.

    + Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality.

    + Observe established safety regulations and comply with ALS health and safety policies, procedures.

    + Routine maintenance of testing equipment.

    + Properly completing all paperwork is used to track tests and their validity.

    + Loading data for tests performed.

    + Maintaining a clean, safe work area.

    + Accurately recording personal production and meeting production requirements.

    + Routing samples for additional testing as outlined by SOPs.

    + Storing and disposing of samples properly.

    + Complying with local and corporate quality assurance policies, as well as ISO 17025 lab accreditation requirements.

    + Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned, as required

    Required Qualifications:

    + High School diploma or laboratory experience preferred.

    + Working knowledge of good laboratory practice.

    + Comfortable in a high paced production environment.

    Physical Demands:

    + The ability to stand for intervals of up to 8 hours while working.

    + Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with co-workers and managers.

    + Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate equipment and handle glassware.

    + Must have average vision and able to see to read reports and operate equipment.

    + Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

    + Manual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks.

    + Wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as eye protection, gloves, etc., when required.

    + Ability to stand for a full shift.

    + Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities.

    + You may be exposed to unpleasant odors.

    + Please note that ALS operates 24/7 and will require day, afternoon, and evening shift work including weekends
