    Summary:

    Meta’s Reality Labs is looking for a Technical Artist to join our avatars team. The avatars team creates and maintains the system that powers our avatars used across our family of apps, including all of our Metaverse initiatives in VR/AR. As a Technical Artist working on tools and pipelines, you will have the opportunity to work closely with designers, engineers, and other technical artists to help bring characters to life. Characters who are part of our apps that are used by billions of users around the world.

    Required Skills:

    Technical Artist, Metaverse Avatars Responsibilities:

    1. Create and maintain a wide array of existing workflows and tools

    2. Partner closely with art, engineering, user-experience, product management, and other teams to develop content in modern real-time environments

    3. Design, manage and maintain the content pipeline from asset creation through deployment

    4. Quickly innovate and solve issues with cross-functional teams

    Minimum Qualifications:

    5. 5+ years of experience in game development or the tech industry operating as a Technical Artist

    6. Experience with Python, C#

    7. Experience in character rigging technologies

    8. Familiarity with Digital Content Creation tools such as Maya

    9. Familiarity with game development engines such as Unity, Unreal

    10. Experience collaborating on multi-disciplinary teams

    11. Experience with real time asset implementation and optimization techniques

    12. Experience communicating across team members including engineers, artists and production staff

    13. Experience building tools, plug-ins and designing workflows for content production

    14. Proven experience to collaborate and iterate based on the team's evolving needs

    17. Knowledge of emerging technologies

    18. Experience with GenAI artist tools

    Public Compensation:

    $130,000/year to $180,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
