SUMMARY
Responsible for the successful outcome of the development and implementation of one or more manufacturing operations for a part-specific process by creating a capable process, eliminating defects and waste and adhering to the Quality Management System, all applicable regulations and Lean Manufacturing principles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Creates and/or updates CNC programs, set-up sheets, tool sheets and other documentation related to the manufacturing process, using company-standard software applications.
• Sets-up and operates CNC and secondary equipment in order to prove-out the operation, troubleshoots and revises programs, and ensures all tooling is available.
• Supports the quoting process by estimating production times, resource requirements, etc. for specific manufacturing operations.
• Reviews designs for manufacturability relative to a specific operation, and adds or revises specifications as needed, including GD&T.
• Tests and inspects products during the manufacturing operation to determine if items meet specifications, complying with established standards and methods for inspection, testing, evaluation and calibration
• Develops manufacturing operation for new and existing projects, collaborating with the Manufacturing Engineer, adhering to customer specifications and all applicable requirements, and using as many company standard processes and tools as possible.
• Provides training, coaching, mentoring as required in support of operators in establishing the methods and understanding for production associates to operate jobs effectively
• Teams with the Manufacturing Engineer to develop and effectively implement the inspection plan.
• Performs specific validation activities (IQ, OQ, PQ) designed to qualify the equipment and the process, as required.
• Designs and/or manufactures work-holding devices and tooling, and based on tool life, establishes the re-order points to ensure availability.
• Assists Manufacturing Engineer with investigating root cause of customer and/or supplier rejections and internal quality failures, as well as helps to disposition non-conforming parts and implement effective corrective action as required.
• At post-production, reviews and evaluates specific manufacturing operations, including equipment performance and product quality, in order to recommend and implement improvements.
• Provides on-the-job training to ensure the set-up associate and operator fully understand the process, inspection and documentation requirements, and can achieve quality and productivity standards. May also assist with developing training curriculums and providing effective follow-up to training programs.
• Supports the implementation of applicable lean manufacturing techniques with production associates.
• Understands and complies with company policies, safety guidelines, quality system procedures and housekeeping standards.

Education and/or Experience
Manufacturing Technology Certification and 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
