    Job Title: Senior UNIX/Linux Systems Administrator (Secret Clearance)

     

    Primary Location: Richmond, VA (On-site only)

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking two highly skilled Senior UNIX/Linux Systems Administrators to support a critical mission under the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) JETS 2.0. The selected candidates will be responsible for enterprise-level system administration, security compliance, and operational support across classified and unclassified environments. This role supports both NIPRnet and SIPRnet infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Red Hat, Solaris, and HP-UX systems. Candidates must hold an active Secret clearance and meet all DoD 8570/8140 requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    •    Manage full system lifecycle operations for Red Hat Linux, Solaris, and HP-UX platforms (physical and virtual)

    •    Ensure continuous compliance with DoD STIGs, including vulnerability remediation and patch management

    •    Perform identity and access management using Red Hat Identity Manager (IDM)

    •    Deploy and maintain COTS tools such as Trellix, HBSS, Splunk, and ArcSight

    •    Monitor logs and system performance for anomalies, growth trends, and intrusion indicators

    •    Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and support COOP/DR (Continuity of Operations/Disaster Recovery)

    •    Deliver responsive and professional support to DLA stakeholders and VIP users

    •    Participate in technical planning, documentation, and review activities

    •    Provide 24/7/365 on-call support across CONUS/OCONUS time zones as needed

    Required Qualifications:

    •    Active Secret clearance (No interim clearances)

    •    Security+ CE or higher (Compliant with DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II)

    •    Minimum of 10 years specialized experience in UNIX/Linux system administration

    •    Operating System Certification: RHCSA, RHCE, or CompTIA Linux+

    •    Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline (required, no substitutions)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    •    Experience supporting classified systems within DoD or federal agencies

    •    Working knowledge of RMF, DIACAP, and other DoD Information Assurance frameworks

    •    Familiarity with compliance tools such as ACAS and STIG Viewer

    •    Hands-on experience with Red Hat 7+, Solaris 11, and HP-UX

    •    Experience administering Trellix, HBSS, Splunk, and ArcSight
