    Job Summary and Qualifications

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    + Regular, Punctual and dependable attendance

    + Ensures readiness of ambulance and all associated equipment for service, and performs stocking as needed

    + Maintains cleanliness of interior and exterior of ambulance and EMS equipment

    + Responds to North Florida Hospital EMS Transport Services requests for the transport of patients from North Florida Hospital facilities

    + Provides care in the out of hospital setting, serving as the secondary provider and assistant to the Paramedic or other healthcare provider during interfacility transports

    + Provides primary patient care activities on transports approved to be at the BLS level by the attending physician or EMS Medical Director

    + Assesses, plans, implements intervention, and evaluates the appropriate level of patient care according to Florida BLS scope of practice, North Florida Hospital EMS Protocols, and ORMC emergency department policies and procedures

    + Maintains competence in thorough patient care documentation and use of both EMS PCR and ED software

    + Performs EMS hand off reports at facility destinations and reports appropriately to Paramedics, nursing staff, and ED Physicians

    + Attends meetings and in-services as required by departmental policy

    + Demonstrates knowledge and application of intermediate patient care, to include vital signs, venipuncture, urinary catheterization, cardiac monitoring, and 12 lead EKG.

    + Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, qualify of care or the services delivered.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    What qualifications you will need:

    + Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

    + IS-00100 NIMS Command Sys must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date

    + IS-00200 NIMS ICS Sngl Res must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date

    + IS-00700 NIMS Introduction must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date

    + IS-00800B NIMS Resp Framework must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date

    + Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

    + EVOC-Emergency Vehicle Operations Course must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
