Job Summary and Qualifications
Is responsible for the daily operations of the Laboratory and direct supervision of all personnel. Performs clinical laboratory testing. Investigates and resolves problems/complaints from physicians, patients and their families, nursing, and other hospital personnel. Responsible for follow up, reviewing, and reporting all quality assurance issues including shifts and trends. Provides instruction to employees as designated by the Laboratory Manager. Communicates to Laboratory Manager all issues concerning the functioning of the Laboratory and works closely with the Manager to resolve such issues. Assist with preparation of bi-annual CAP inspections. Completes technical or special projects as assigned. Must be capable of making management decisions in the absence of the Laboratory Manager. Responsible for reviewing daily reports as assigned. Employee will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the neonate, infant child, adolescent, adult and geriatric population. He/she will perform tasks as assigned by the Laboratory Manager or Director within his/her scope of training.
+ Familiar with all testing performed in the laboratory.
+ May be assigned General Supervisor duties as defined by CLIA ’88 by the director or clinical manager.

+ Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses ability to access data, interpret age-specific needs and provide care as described in the department’s policies and procedures.
+ Demonstrates the ability to perform specific competencies as listed on the Competency Validation Checklist.
+ Meets mutually agreed upon performance goals/objectives established annually.
+ Displays courteous behavior and cooperative relationships with customers and co-workers.
What qualifications you will need:
+ Bachelor's degree in a Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science (MT/CLS) from an accredited institution.
+ Qualified under CLIA guidelines for MT/CLS Certification preferred.
+ Five to Ten years of proven leadership preferred. Good communication and basic computer skilled needed.
