Athletic Trainer - High School Outreach - Nederland High School Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303
$29.66 - $41.45 an hour - Half-Time Evenings, 20 hours per week *Range includes evening differential. +$2.50/hr for weekend shifts.
Boulder Community Health is seeking an Athletic Trainer that is responsible for the design and the maintenance of an athletic training program at the specific high school that he/she is assigned to. This will include maintaining health records such as, injury reports, BVSD incident reports and daily treatment records. Maintaining the athletic training program will also include stocking, updating, safety, inventory, cleanliness and a professional atmosphere. The ATC will also act as a liaison between the sports medicine center, parents, student athletes, coaches and athletic director.

Qualifications •Colorado Athletic Trainer Licensure required within conditional period of employment •NATA Certification preferred •BLS Certification required within conditional period of employment
Responsibilities •Performs appropriate tests to determine mode of treatment for the student. •Formulates and maintains an individualized patient plan of care based on long and short-term goals. •Provides rehabilitation using appropriate tools and demonstrates a complete knowledge of patient management. •Evaluates patient response to treatment and revises plan of care as indicated. •Reports and documents evaluations, treatment, rehabilitation, prevention and patient progress. •Functions as an advocate for the patient within the rehabilitation system. •Utilizes health-related research as a base for the practice of athletic training. •Ability to assess treats and/or care for students. •Develop a program for evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of athletic related injuries for athletes in all sports. •In coordination with the athletic director, develop an emergency action plan by procedure for on field and off-site management. •Maintain and utilize an electronic medical record for injury recording on all athletes. •Establish coverage of training room, practices, home and away varsity football games in coordination with the athletic director. The assigned ATC, athletic director and BCH Outreach Coordinator would discuss priority of coverage to include varsity and other high school sports. Transportation will be provided to away events by the school district.
