Description We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team in Plano, Texas. This is a Contract to Permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of the organization. The ideal candidate will provide outstanding customer service while managing accounts receivable and payable tasks, ensuring the seamless processing of transactions.
Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts receivable by handling inbound and outbound calls to customers, providing friendly reminders, and processing payments.
• Perform collections activities, including following up on overdue accounts and maintaining a meticulous approach in payment discussions.
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements to ensure accurate financial records.
• Process accounts payable transactions, including entering bills for credit card payments and issuing checks.
• Apply cash payments to accounts receivable, ensuring proper allocation and accuracy.
• Maintain responsibility for assigned territories, managing 200+ accounts and addressing balances ranging from thousands to tens of thousands of dollars.
• Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to update and maintain financial records.
• Provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers with payment inquiries and resolving account-related issues.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance with company policies. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems, including NetSuite, Concur, and ERP systems.
• Strong skills in bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Familiarity with financial services tools such as ADP and CaseWare.
• Ability to manage a high volume of calls (15-30 per day) while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple accounts and territories.
• Strong communication skills to provide outstanding customer service and resolve payment issues.
• Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
