Description
Robert Half is partnering with a Construction company on an Accounts Payable Supervisor opening. The role will report to the Controller of this growing company. The role is 100% on site in the Denver area.
The Accounts Payable Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, maintaining compliance with internal controls, and supporting project and operations teams across multiple construction entities.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Supervise and lead the AP team, including hiring, training, performance management, and daily workflow oversight.
+ Manage full-cycle accounts payable for multiple entities and job sites, including coding, approvals, and disbursements.
+ Ensure timely and accurate processing of a high volume of invoices, expense reports, subcontractor pay apps, and retention payments.
+ Oversee and maintain vendor records, W-9s, and ensure compliance with lien waiver and insurance certificate requirements.
+ Coordinate monthly AP close activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
+ Maintain and improve internal controls and processes to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
+ Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Procurement to resolve invoice discrepancies and support project cost tracking.
+ Support ERP upgrades, automation initiatives, and best practice implementation.
+ Collaborate with accounting leadership on cash management and forecasting needs.
+ Ensure compliance with company policies and construction-specific regulations, including job costing and retention.
+ Prepare and review reports including AP aging, payment schedules, and vendor analyses.
Requirements
+ Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
+ 5+ years of accounts payable experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
+ Experience working in the construction industry and managing AP across multiple entities or divisions.
+ Familiarity with job costing, subcontractor billing, lien releases, and retention processes.
+ Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., Viewpoint Vista, Sage 300 CRE, or Procore AP integrations).
+ Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
+ Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
