The **Sterile Instrument Technician Lead** will provide excellent service to the patients of the Central Sterile Processing and Surgery Departments, the physicians, fellow employees and hospital staff.

Responsibilities:

+ Ensures staff follows all infection control policies.

+ Decontaminates surgical instruments, power equipment and other medical devices.

+ Knowledge and use of sterilizers - ultrasonic, Washers, Cart Washer, and high level disinfection.

+ Coordinates sterilizing schedule to meet the instrumentation needs of all ORs and clinics.

+ Ability to sort, identify and process instrumentation on a priority basis.

+ Works as relief lead in Supervisor's absence.

Qualifications

Minimum

+ High School Diploma/GED

+ 3 years surgical instrument experience

+ CRCST certification

+ Preceptor Certification within six months

Preferred

+ Completion of a surgical instrument technician program
