    Job Description

    This role involves close collaboration with engineers and project managers to execute product development plans and achieve project objectives. The successful candidate will coordinate and delegate tasks for prototype instrument builds and updates, ensuring adherence to design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.

    Responsibilities

    + Collaborate with engineers and project managers to execute product development plans and achieve project objectives.

    + Utilize technical skills to build and test prototypes of medical devices.

    + Analyze and interpret test results, providing recommendations for improvements and modifications.

    + Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation throughout the development process.

    + Prepare clear and concise technical reports to communicate findings and recommendations.

    + Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and organization of laboratory equipment, tools, and supplies.

    + Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs or replacements as necessary.

    + Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing personnel to identify areas for process improvement and optimization.

    + Ensure adherence to compliance regulatory requirements and industry standards.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless communication and knowledge transfer.

    + Provide training and mentoring to junior engineering technicians, fostering their technical skills and professional development.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience as an engineering technician in the medical device industry, with a focus on product development.

    + Strong knowledge of medical device development processes, including prototyping, testing, and manufacturing.

    + Proficient in using engineering tools and software such as CAD/CAM, SolidWorks, and data analysis software.

    + Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory requirements such as FDA.

    + Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.

    + Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

    + Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

    + Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and guide junior technicians.

    + Relevant engineering qualification and GCSE in Math and English.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with CNC, 3D printers, and design for experiments.

    + Familiarity with GD&T and DOE methodologies.

    Work Environment

    The work environment includes both R&D and manufacturing settings, involving the use of CNC machines, rapid prototype machines, and 3D printers. The role requires effective collaboration in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining high-quality documentation

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $38.00/hr.
