REMOTE Part Time Labeling Specialist

This position is an ITQ Dynamic Talent Bench, 1300-hour track role, seeking flexible, part-time talent with package labeling experience, ideally in human and/or pet food consumer packaged goods. The hours will range from 16 to 24 hours per week during first shift business hours (7am-5pm), with flexibility from week to week and will not exceed 1300 hours annually. This role is intended to be open-ended, with contracts extended based on successful assignment completion. Remote talent will be considered.

Responsibilities

+ Develop an understanding of FDA and USDA labeling regulations and company policies.

+ Work closely with the labeling team to support project and business work.

+ Develop and maintain accurate food labeling information for finished products, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, third-party certification standards, and company policies.

+ Collaborate across functional teams to assure compliance with local and regional regulations and certification standards.

+ Complete and submit documentation to support regulatory requirements and claims.

+ Contribute to, review, and approve artwork, packaging, graphics, and text of existing and proposed product labels for accuracy and compliance.

+ Develop communication for consumer and customer inquiries pertaining to labeling.

+ Collaborate to manage regulatory, food safety, litigation, brand, and third-party risk, providing input into risk management decisions.

Essential Skills

+ BS in Nutrition, Food Science, or related field.

+ 3 years of experience required.

+ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with teams.

+ Evidence of strong problem-solving capabilities.

+ Strong organizational and computer skills.

+ Ability to work with multiple database systems efficiently.

+ Proficiency in multitasking and prioritizing to meet deadlines.

+ Ability to build effective relationships and seek additional work when assigned business is slow.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Working knowledge of regional regulatory standards and documentation requirements.

+ Experience in food product development, commercialization, and related processes.

+ Knowledge of food safety and allergens.

Work Environment

This role offers remote-based work with the option to work on-site if preferred. The position involves working with a team of Specialists and Coordinators where personality and good communication skills are highly valued. The job offers flexible part-time working hours up to 1300 hours a year, with 16-24 hours per week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $29.00/hr.
