    THE POSITION

    The Department of State has an exciting opportunity for a professional Clerical Assistant 3 to support the mission of the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs, Real Estate and Vehicle Division.     DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    In this position, you will validate licensure and examination applications for a variety of professions to determine if eligibility should be granted for both initial licensure and reinstatement of existing non-current licenses. Attention to detail is essential for ensuring each application is complete and includes all required documents. Your work will involve discussing licensure eligibility information with the public via telephone and written correspondence, respecting confidentiality, evaluating examination qualifications, and updating data in our records.

     

    Work includes evaluating applications for broker examinations from graduates of real estate schools and colleges, and for the licensing of brokers, brokerage offices, associate brokers, rental listing referral agents, and cemeteries. You will also evaluate and process applications for vehicle dealers, vehicle manufacturers, vehicle distributors, and vehicle auctions, as well as licensure applications for a variety of salesperson professions including vehicles, real estate, cemetery, timeshare, campground membership, and builder-owner. Independent judgment is exercised in determining examination and licensure eligibility based on the requirements for each of these classifications.     Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment

    + Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

    + Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 50% after completing the six-month probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

    + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or

    + One year of moderately complex clerical experience;or

    + An equivalent combination of experience and training.
