    WGL - HR Compliance Lead

     

    Join WGL as our **HR Compliance Lead** and play a pivotal role in ensuring our operations across the US and Canada meet the highest legal standards and internal policies. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to develop, implement, and manage cutting-edge compliance programs, conduct thorough audits, and proactively address any non-compliance issues. You'll be at the forefront, leading initiatives and implementing innovative solutions to keep our company ahead of the curve.

    You Will:

    + Create and manage effective compliance programs to ensure adherence to legal standards and internal policies

    + Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks

    + Draft and revise company policies to ensure compliance with regulations

    + Design and deliver training programs for employees on compliance-related topics

    + Develop risk management strategies and design control systems to address violations of internal policies

    + Coordinate with internal and external auditors and address issues raised by audit reports

    + Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate

    + Keep abreast of regulatory developments and evolving best practices in compliance control

    + Ensure all employees have completed Form I-9 accurately and on time, conduct regular audits of I-9 forms, and stay updated on changes to I-9 regulations

    + Provide training to HR and relevant staff on proper I-9 completion and retention procedures

    + Prepare for potential audits by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and ensure all documentation is in order

    + Identify and correct errors in I-9 forms promptly to avoid penalties

    + Develop and implement MFE strategies and initiatives with a focus on meritocracy, equal opportunity, and nondiscrimination. Collaborate with HR and leadership to integrate MFE principles into recruitment and training processes and promote an inclusive workplace culture in a compliant manner

    + Conduct training and workshops to raise awareness and enhance understanding of MFE issues

    + Establish and maintain metrics to measure the effectiveness of MFE programs and initiatives, regularly assessing progress and making data-driven recommendations for improvement

    + Provide guidance and support to employee resource groups and affinity networks, encouraging their active participation in promoting diversity, inclusion, and nondiscrimination within the organization

    + Act as a liaison with external organizations and communities to enhance partnerships and drive meaningful MFE initiatives in the broader community

    You Have:

    + 7+ years of proven experience as a Compliance Lead or similar role, preferably in a multi-state/country company

    + Must have experience in federal government contractor compliance under OFCCP, EEOC, and related regulations

    + Overseeing equal employment review processes, data collection, and reporting, such as for EEO-1, VETS-4212, etc. for US-based entities

    + Strong understanding of legal guidelines and corporate governance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex compliance issues

    + Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, HR or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional) is a plus

     

    We offer a competitive salary range of $113,000 to $164,000 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
