Job Summary:
Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) seeks a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Scheduler to manage the scheduling of nursing and related clinical staff across designated patient care units. This crucial role ensures optimal staffing levels while maintaining cost-effectiveness and adhering to established guidelines. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Essential Job Functions:
+ Develop and maintain accurate 24-hour daily and Master Staffing Plans, creating timely shift-specific schedules that optimize staffing levels for nursing-related positions. This includes balancing staffing needs with budgetary constraints and adhering to established guidelines for appropriate staff mix per unit.
+ Validate and maintain accurate staff and temporary staff documentation in both automated (OneStaff or equivalent) and hardcopy systems.
+ Investigate and resolve time card discrepancies, reporting findings to the appropriate unit manager for each pay period.
+ Generate and distribute regular reports based on data extracted from the staffing database.
+ Proactively monitor and respond to changing conditions impacting staffing needs, utilizing various communication methods (phone, email, in-person rounds) to gather information and adjust schedules accordingly.
+ Collaborate with unit managers to ensure staffing needs are met efficiently and effectively.
+ Match employee competencies and skills to specific assignments, considering established staffing ratios and guidelines.
Qualifications
Education/Work Experience Requirements
One year of related work experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Pay Range
$23.87 - $32.82 /hour
