    Quality Control Laboratory Technician

    Job Description

    This role involves performing analytical testing and reporting to support production, raw material, and product release. The technician will also manage laboratory equipment, ensure instrument maintenance, and oversee day-to-day laboratory operations.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform analytical tests and generate reports to support production, raw material, product release, product development, and stability.

    + Ensure compliance with procedural and cGMP requirements.

    + Operate laboratory instruments, conduct system suitability checks, perform calibrations, and carry out maintenance tasks.

    + Manage laboratory supplies, reagents, and standards, maintaining a clean and organized work area.

    + Create and issue batch records, write Out-of-Specification (OOS) investigations, and generate Certificates of Analysis (CoA).

    + Assist in Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) and Deviations, review and control QC data, and execute stability studies.

    + Perform additional support tasks as assigned and work independently with minimal supervision from senior Quality personnel.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in quality control and chemistry.

    + Experience with gas chromatography (GC), pH testing, viscosity testing, Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR), and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).

    + Ability to track plant-wide calibrations and participate in quality investigations.

    + Technical writing skills for updating procedures.

    + Proficiency in titration and wet chemistry techniques.

    + Experience in analytical chemistry and quality assurance.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associate’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent work experience in a scientific or pharmaceutical field.

    + Bachelor’s degree preferred.

    + Experience in a QC laboratory setting preferred.

    + Strong attention to detail and documentation practices.

    + Ability to read and follow written procedures.

    + Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

    + Previous quality experience in a regulated environment preferred.

    + Computer skills and use of databases for specifications.

    Work Environment

    The role is based in a laboratory setting where the technician will work mostly alone. The work schedule follows a 4-10 shift from 9am to 7pm, Monday through Thursday. The technician will be involved with products such as flea & tick medication, shampoos, and toothpaste. The position requires the ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including maintaining regular, punctual attendance.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
