    Summary: The Home Modification Loan Program ’s mission is to enable individuals with disabilities to continue to live in their home, be as independent as possible and continue to play an active role in his/her community. The Program Coordinator will support the Program Manager in administration, loan servicing, marketing and outreach of the Home Modification Loan Program (HMLP) for the Cape Cod & Island (CCI) and MetroWest (MW) regions. This is a critical support position that requires teamwork, proactive outreach and attainment of annual loan quotas/goals. This is primarily a remote position that requires travel within assigned regions and occasional travel to SMOC’s HQ. Candidate must be located in the Cape Cod area.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Answer and follow up on incoming phone calls, voicemails and emails and provide clients with HMLP application materials.

    + Assist the Program Manager with ongoing outreach efforts for both regions (CCI and MW).

    + Proactively follow up and reach out to applicants to ensure complete loan applications are submitted

    + Proactively market the program in assigned territories, with a particular focus on loan applicants, contractors and community program partners

    + Coordinate and conduct monthly/quarterly outreach activities to market the HMLP program in assigned territories

    + Increase loan applicants and closings through proactive outreach in assigned territories

    + Support Program Manager in meeting/exceeding annual loan quotas and goals in assigned territories

    + Update borrower database with applicant information.

    + Review borrower applications to ensure all documentation is received for approval of application and set up initial borrower file, as required for underwriting.

    + Assist borrowers in the servicing of loans (subordinations, pay-offs, discharge documents), as requested.

    + Interface with the Division Analyst to communicate borrower balances and payment inquiries.

    + Assist in the maintenance of borrower files and mailing lists.

    + Participate in supervision, SMOC committees and multi-disciplinary teams, as required.

    + Proactively engage all clients by understanding and addressing their needs whether within or outside the scope of work.

    + Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with clients and staff in other areas.

    + Maintain confidentiality of client, employee and agency information in accordance with federal and state laws and funder requirements.

    + Ensure compliance with program/department/funder requirements, and SMOC policies & procedures.

    + Other duties, as assigned.

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

    + Associates Degree or equivalent experience

    + Strong customer service, organizational, time management, attention to detail, and follow-through skills

    + Administrative experience required

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office and database entry required

    + Notary license preferred or ability to become a Notary Public

     

    Organizational Relationship: Directly reports to HMLP Program Manager.

     

    Physical Requirement: Candidate must be located in the Cape Cod Area. Must be able to occasional travel to SMOC HQ, local and regional area meetings via personal vehicle. Must be willing to travel on a limited basis to national trainings or meetings. Must be able to sit or stand for a prolonged period. Must be able to operate a computer and complete extensive paperwork.

     

    Working Conditions: This position requires the use of a personal vehicle. Travel within Massachusetts is required. This position will also visit residences that are not handicap accessible. As part of the responsibilities of this position, the HMLP Program Coordinator will have direct or incidental contact with clients served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. A successful background check is required.

     

    Remote Work Option: Remote work is permissible in some positions at SMOC depending on the key functions and responsibilities. The Program Coordinator, HMLP position is eligible to work from home in scheduling coordination with the department manager.
