    THE POSITION

    The Department of Education is currently searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 to function as the front desk receptionist in the Forum Building. This position will be responsible for greeting all visitors and directing to different parts of the building, contact employees regarding visitors, and direct deliveries to the appropriate area within the building. Additionally, the receptionist will issue visitor tags and maintain a visitor log, issue temporary parking passes, and provide office support as required to ensure efficient operations for the agency.

    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    The responsibilities of this position include greeting and assisting all visitors and Commonwealth staff with a professional and helpful demeanor. Monitors a SharePoint calendar to coordinate visitor arrivals with meetings occurring in the building and will maintain a visitor sign in sheet for all, including Commonwealth employees that do not work in the building. All visitors will receive a visitors tag to wear visibly on their person. Directs deliveries that come to the front desk by giving directions to dock area for drop off or contacting program office to receive the delivery. This position will s erve as the central pick-up location for and tracks the internal order supplies requested by the program areas. Additional duties include tracking maintenance needs for automotive fleet, sharing the responsibility with the automotive officer. Utilizes a two-way business radio for support at the front desk and must r eport any suspicious activity from visitors, others in front of or those accessing the building.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.

    + Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a 1-hour lunch.

    + Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

    + Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or

    + Graduation from high school;or

    + An equivalent combination of experience and training.
