IT Quality Assurance Analyst Sr.
Job Summary
The Analyst Sr, IT Quality Assur role is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our applications. You will be responsible for designing and executing test plans, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues. Your keen attention to detail and analytical skills will help maintain high standards of software performance and user satisfaction. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing processes and methodologies, ensuring that our products meet both functional and non-functional requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of software development life cycles, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams. This role will report to the Manager, Field Technology.
Major Job Responsibilities
1. **Developing and Executing Test Plans** : Creating detailed test plans to ensure all objectives are met and the software functions correctly and all requirements are covered.
2. **Implementing and Monitoring Test Scripts** : Assessing functionality, reliability, performance, and quality through various test scripts.
3. **Identifying and Documenting Defects** : Detecting and documenting any defects or issues within the software.
4. **Collaborating with Development Teams** : Working closely with developers and product managers to resolve issues and improve product quality.
5. **Performing Various Types of Testing** : Conducting functional, regression, system, and user acceptance testing to ensure comprehensive coverage. Understanding when automated testing should be utilized and implement it.
6. **Ensuring Compliance** : Making sure that the software complies with standards and regulatory requirements.
7. **Following Standards and Procedures** : Closely following established procedures to determine product quality and readiness for release.
8. **Tracking and Reporting** : Keeping track of defects and their resolutions, and reporting on quality assurance metrics
Job Requirements
Education
+ Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or a related field
+ Minimum 8+ years’ experience in quality assurance
Experience and Knowledge
+ Proven experience (8+ years) working in Quality Assurance and designing and implementing test strategies and test cases for large-scale organizations.
+ Ability to follow quality standards, principles, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency, scalability, and flexibility across all IT systems and applications.
+ Strong soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
+ Ability to lead others.
+ Excellent consulting skills such as targeted communications, engagement management, stakeholder management and business analysis.
+ Comfortable, experienced, and accomplished at working with business executives, and able to push back in a professional and diplomatic way.
+ Strong understanding of different testing methodologies
+ Experience with defect tracking systems and the ability to manage and prioritize defects effectively.

+ Experience with and knowledge of testing tools and test automation tools such as Tosca, etc
+ Experience with Utility related business processes, industry applications, and supporting technologies.
+ A deep, comprehensive knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle

+ Ability to handle multiple assignments and conflicting priorities
+ Ability to work with business partners and peers of varying levels of technical proficiency
+ Advanced understanding various technical principles, theories and concepts
+ Broad understanding of a wide range of technical areas
+ Excellent communication skills including the ability to translate complex or technical ideas into non-technical language
