Position Summary
The Director of Academic Operations is responsible for maintaining the quality of the on-site education at the campus, managing the clinical partnerships and staff for the programs at the campus and maintaining an inclusive and supportive environment for all faculty, staff and students at the campus. The director also serves as the community liaison for the campus and its programs.

Major Responsibilities
General:
+ Collaborate with directors of academic operations at other campuses, program directors, and other university units to ensure high-quality educational experiences at the campus and consistency across campuses.
+ Resolve on-site student issues.
+ Teaching as assigned up to 5 sections annually over 3 semesters.
+ Oversight of staff serving as lab instructors, clinical faculty, clinical faculty coordinator (or equivalent), and, administrative assistant/proctor assigned to the campus.
+ Collaborate with program directors, clinical/fieldwork coordinators, and lab instructors to develop schedules for the use of the campus and provide an accessible up-to-date schedule that includes time off and coverage arranged.
+ Work with success coaches and faculty to identify and meet with at-risk students.
+ Maintain student academic files on campus.
+ Recruit tutors and schedule tutoring for campus programs as needed.
+ Schedule Kaplan exams, update Kaplan rosters.
+ Schedule, plan, and facilitate orientation and other events at the campus.
+ Management and maintenance of the campus.
+ Facilitate a collaborative, supportive, collegial, and professional environment at the campus, and within and across programs.
+ Provide relevant assessment of learning at the campus to the program directors.
+ Attend nursing department meetings and others as scheduled.
+ Participate in department standing committees
Clinical:
+ Work with program-specific clinical coordinator/fieldwork placement faculty to:
+ Establish and maintain relationships with healthcare partners.
+ Attend healthcare program recruiting events and related meetings as needed.
+ Ensure clinical placements meet the needs of the program.
+ Recruit and make recommendations for hire of adjunct clinical faculty.
+ Complete periodic performance evaluations of clinical faculty.
+ Ensure the development of clinical schedules each semester.
+ Ensure clinical faculty and students are compliant with health clearance requirements.
+ Manage student and faculty orientation to the clinical sites.
+ Ensure adequate initial and ongoing training for clinical faculty.
+ Periodically visit clinical sites to evaluate clinical faculty and site.
+ Ensure clinical faculty are compliant with the policies and procedures of Utica University and each individual program.
+ Manage student clinical issues, failures, compliance issues, etc.
Lab
+ Be able to teach all lab courses and content in their discipline.
+ Serve as a reference/mentor for lab instructors.
+ Orient lab instructors.
+ Develop lab schedules.
+ Ensure quality of lab instruction.
+ Provide coverage for lab sections as needed.
+ Ensure lab instructors are adequately trained in simulation and lab content delivery practices.
+ Complete annual performance evaluations of staff serving as lab instructors
Collaborate with lab instructors and other site staff to:
+ Maintain simulation and lab equipment.
+ Inventory of lab supplies and equipment.
+ Ordering of lab supplies.
+ Suggest needed resources.
+ Maintains biohazard materials including bloodborne pathogens and sharps disposal in accordance with policy to ensure public safety.
+ Collect assessment data in accordance with the plan established by the program director and review assessment data with lab instructors other directors of academic operations each semester and make recommendations to the program director for improvement.
Driving Responsibilities

Education & Experience Qualifications
+ Master of Science in field required
+ Current unencumbered professional license in field in FL/NY (or eligible) required
+ 5 years practice in the field required
+ Minimum of 3 years teaching required
+ Online teaching experience strongly preferred
+ Academic leadership experience strongly preferred
+ Simulation experience preferred
Minimum Skills/Abilities
The functions of the position usually involve sitting, but may require some amount of time standing. Some amount of stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying and other movements may be required. Tasks involving working on a computer keyboard, typewriter, calculator, etc. involve extensive wrist and hand movement. Position requires the ability to analyze information as a part of the decision making and problem-solving process. All individuals are required to be able to perform these movements without significant risk of injury to themselves or others, or to otherwise demonstrate or explain how they can perform the essential functions listed above with or without a reasonable accommodation. Other duties as assigned.
This is a full-time on-site position, Monday-Friday, weekends as necessary. Site specific hours will vary based on the needs of the programs.
