    Description

    Do you want to utilize your customer service skills and abilities to make a positive impact on citizens and guests visiting Parks and Recreation facilities? If so, the City of Harrisonburg's Parks and Recreation Department's Recreation Attendant - Facilities position may be the right job for you!

     

    The Parks and Recreation Department's Recreation Attendant - Facilities position is a year-round part-time position (no benefits) and a preferred hiring rate of $15.96 per hour.

    As a Recreation Attendant - Facilities, you'll:

    + Interact with customers to provide information in response to inquiries about processes or services;

    + Monitor the conduct of patrons at the facility;

    + Promote facility services and events;

    + Operate assigned office equipment, including cash registers and computer software/systems;

    + Collect money and issue receipts of payment;

    + Reconcile cash on hand with daily receipts;

    + Maintain daily records;

    + Perform daily maintenance tasks on a regular schedule;

    + Maintain the facility and storage areas in a clean and orderly fashion.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Completion of the tenth grade and minimal experience in a customer service position required. High school diploma or GED, preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be used to meet this requirement.

    + At least 16 years of age prior to hire date, approximately 3 weeks after initial application date.

    + CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications required within the first three months of employment.

    + Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays, preferred.

    The selected candidate for this position will be subject to the following screenings and must receive satisfactory results:

    This position is subject to the City of Harrisonburg's random drug testing program.
