ROLE

General Purpose

The Packaging and Shipping Technician is responsible for accurately picking, packing, and processing materials and products for shipment and delivery. This role also assists with product assembly as needed and requires a willingness to work overtime when necessary.

The position offers an hourly wage of $16 to $18, DOE (Depends on Experience)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Pick, pack, and ship customer orders accurately and efficiently.

+ Process ERP and carrier transactions for outgoing shipments using a PC and internet-based tools.

+ Maintain inventory of materials and supplies required for packaging and shipping.

+ Safely assemble and disassemble products, including mechanical and electrical components, to prepare for secure shipping.

+ Assist in the Assembly Department as needed to build or prepare products for shipment.

+ Coordinate with the supervisor to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.

Additional Responsibilities:

+ Follow established procedures and standard work instructions to ensure customer satisfaction.

+ Participate in annual training and development activities.

+ Comply with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.

+ Willingness to work overtime as required.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

+ Familiarity with standard shipping and receiving practices.

+ Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.

+ Forklift certification and a valid driver’s license preferred.

+ Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; able to work with diverse teams.

+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

+ Proficient in using hand tools, personal computers, phones, forklifts, and vehicles.

Education and Experience Requirements:

+ High School Diploma or GED required.

+ Minimum of 2 years of shipping experience, preferably with exposure to mechanical and/or electrical assembly.
