Major/Essential Functions:

+ Provides direct patient care, consultative services, and outpatient services and care of hospitalized patients

+ Participates in teaching activities, including conferences and lectures, bedside teaching, outpatient teaching, and rounds for medical students and/or residents, and continuing medical education

+ Advances clinical knowledge through scholarly and research efforts

+ Performs plastic, cosmetic, and reconstructive surgery of the periorbital and facial tissues

+ Provides on-call coverage, as scheduled

+ Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations

+ Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures

+ Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Statement of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Board Certification in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology

+ Strong work ethic and good team player

+ Experience in teaching students and residents

+ Experience in conducting research and publishing scientific reports

Required Qualifications:

+ M.D / D.O.

+ Successful completion of ACGME-accredited residency training in ophthalmology

+ Successful completion of ACGME-accredited fellowship training in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery

+ Texas Medical License or eligible for license in the State of Texas
