Major/Essential Functions:

+ Provides patient care in consultation-liaison, outpatient, and/or inpatient psychiatric care services

+ Supervises residents, medical students and fellows

+ Participates in the teaching program for fellows, residents, and medical students

+ Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship

+ Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties

+ Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission

+ Ensures compliance with HIPPA and billing regulations; adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures

+ Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Statement of Faculty Responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Board certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

+ Board Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

+ Bilingual (Spanish/English)

+ Evidence of success in peer-reviewed publications

+ Emerging regional or national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher

Pay Statement:

Required Qualifications:

+ M.D. or D.O degree

+ Successful completion of ACGME- accredited residency program in psychiatry

+ Successful completion of ACGME-accredited fellowship program in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

+ Texas medical licensure, or eligibility for medical licensure in Texas
