Major/Essential Functions:

+ Provides patient care in the areas of burn, trauma, and surgical critical care in hospital and outpatient settings

+ Instructs and supervises medical students and surgery residents

+ Performs burn and surgical procedures

+ Conducts clinical research and/or produces scholarship related to burn and surgical critical care.Provide in-house on-call coverage, as scheduled

+ Ensures compliance and HIPAA and billing regulations

+ Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures

+ Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Statement of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Board certification in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery

+ Board certification in surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery

+ Strong work ethics and good team player

+ Experience or interest in teaching students and residents

+ Experience or interest in conducting research and publishing scientific reports

+ Emerging or established regional and national reputation for the rank of associate professor higher

Required Qualifications:

+ M.D/D.O.

+ Successful completion of ACGME-accredited residency training in general surgery

+ Successful completion of ACGME-accredited fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care

+ Successful completion of fellowship training in burn surgery

+ Texas Medical License or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas
