Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions:

+ Provides clinical and administrative leadership to include monitoring and adjusting schedules/rotations as needed in both outpatient/and or inpatient psychiatric care services, administer training activities for outpatient and/or inpatient services and embracing continuous quality improvement

+ Provides patient care for outpatient and/or inpatient psychiatric care services

+ Participates in teaching and training psychology interns, psychology post-doctoral trainees, residents, fellows and medical students including presentation of lectures

+ Participates in academic research and scholarly activities in the Department of Psychiatry

+ Participates in committees and other administrative duties as assigned

+ Ensures compliance with HIPAA

+ Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures

+ Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine’s Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility

+ Demonstrated track record in research and peer-reviewed publications (for rank of Associate Professor or higher)

+ Regionally or nationally recognized clinical expertise (for rank of Associate Professor or higher)

Pay Statement:

Required Qualifications:

+ M.D. / D.O.

+ Successful completion of ACGME-accredited residency program in psychiatry

+ Board-certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

+ Licensure or eligibility for medical licensure in Texas
