Description

SAIC is seeking a highly motivated **Full Stack Tech Lead** to join our biometrics team. This role is ideal for a senior software engineer who enjoys mentoring developers, leading technical decisions, and building scalable applications that run in both **cloud and edge environments** . You will play a critical role in shaping the development process while working closely with enterprise architects, engineers, and stakeholders.

**Work Arrangement:** Hybrid, 2 days per week on-site in Ashburn, VA required.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Lead a team of developers in designing, implementing, and maintaining biometric processing applications.

+ Develop and maintain software in **one or more** of the following languages: **Python, C#, or Java** (Python and C# are most commonly used on the team).

+ Provide mentorship, conduct code reviews, and contribute to task planning.

+ Collaborate with enterprise architecture teams to define system design and best practices.

+ Support and troubleshoot deployed biometric solutions in production environments.

+ Work with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based deployments as needed (prior experience is helpful but not required).

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

+ **U.S. Citizenship** with the ability to obtain a **CBP Background Investigation (BI)** clearance.

+ **Bachelor’s degree** in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

+ **9+ years of experience** in software development.

+ Strong expertise in **at least one** of the following: **Python, C#, or Java** .

+ Experience leading or mentoring developers in an agile environment.

+ Familiarity with **cloud computing** (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or distributed systems.

+ Proficiency in **Git-based source control** and modern development workflows.

+ Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have, but Not Required):

+ Experience in **biometrics** , **computer vision** , or **machine learning** techniques.

+ Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices.

+ Basic understanding of DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code).

+ Experience with cloud-native application development or **serverless computing** .

+ Understanding of **cybersecurity best practices** and secure coding principles.
