INTECON, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Engineer III (Senior) to provide engineering, technical, and lifecycle support for U.S. Navy Submarine Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) systems under the Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD), Code 24. This position supports high-impact efforts across design, testing, and operational readiness in both port and underway environments.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The roles shall include:
+ Provide expert engineering support across the design, installation, operation, maintenance, and modernization of submarine mechanical and electrical systems.
+ Analyze technical data, ship specifications, and repair documents to develop and support system design modifications and performance enhancements.
+ Conduct root cause analyses, develop corrective action plans, and deliver technical recommendations in support of system failures and field performance issues.
+ Support shipboard testing, validation, and troubleshooting for propulsion, auxiliary, and electrical systems.
+ Collaborate with shipyards, In-Service Engineering Agents (ISEAs), and Program Offices to ensure technical alignment and documentation accuracy.
+ Review engineering change proposals, maintenance procedures, and alteration records in compliance with NAVSEA policies.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or Maritime Academy.
Experience:
+ Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience supporting U.S. Navy Submarine systems.
+ Proven expertise in mechanical/electrical system design, repair, installation, testing, and lifecycle support.
+ Demonstrated ability to analyze system performance data and develop viable, field-ready solutions.
+ Familiarity with NSWCPD Code 24 mission scope and HM&E subsystems.
Preferred Certifications and Training:
+ NAVSEA Alteration Installation Team (AIT) Procedures Training
+ MIL-STD 167/901/461 Familiarization (Vibration, Shock, EMI Standards)
+ Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) Certification
+ Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Process Training
Proficiency in:
+ Engineering drawing packages and NAVSEA technical specifications
+ Technical analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
+ Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
+ Navy maintenance systems such as 3M, CASREP, and SHA databases
Security Clearance:
Must possess and maintain a SECRET clearance.
