Position Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Legal & Public Affairs Officer, the Senior Director, Vendor Management Organization will play a pivotal role in administering CCA’s programs to source and secure vendors, oversee their performance, and manage procurement operations.
Supervision Exercised:
• Yes, 2 or more direct reports; 1 or more indirect reports and 5 or more consultants which includes but is not limited to providing leadership, work direction, and performance feedback to subordinate staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Senior Director Vendor Management and Oversight oversees three critical functions: procurement operations, strategic sourcing, and vendor management and oversight. The Senior Director liaises with cross-functional business partners to manage procurement activities within their functional lines. The Senior Director ensures that the appropriate structure, talent, and resources are in place to deliver on department priorities, leads the vendor management oversight steering committee and regularly updates company leadership regarding vendor and corporate performance against established metrics. The Senior Director works with the Chief Legal and Public Affairs Officer to manage the department's budget, tracks and drives achievement of VMO performance metrics, monitors and analyzes vendor performance, and collaborates cross-functionally to optimize vendor performance. This position is highly visible with operating leaders across the organization and is critical to scaling the business. The Senior Director serves as a change agent throughout the business identifying and driving best practices to deliver leading performance.
Specific Responsibilities include:
Procurement Operations
• Coupa administration
• Purchase order lifecycle – creation, administration, renewal and/or termination
• Payment authorization & settlement
• Routing of contracts, statements of work and other agreements for review and approval
• Contract/agreement lifecycle management
Strategic Sourcing
• Collaboration with business leaders and cross functional stakeholders to identify business needs and outline business requirements
• Define sourcing strategy
• Identify potential vendors
• Develop and execute requests for proposals/bids/information
• Qualify suppliers
• Collaborate with business leaders and legal team to negotiate contracts
• Manage demand
• Analyze spending
• Recommend strategies to maximize efficiency and improve operating margins
Vendor Management and oversight
• Create/Refine supplier groups
• Risk stratify supplier types by group and individual suppliers within groups
• Initiate relationship (role of the VMO vs. business lead to be defined by supplier type and risk profile)
• Manage performance expectations (role of the VMO vs. business lead to be defined by supplier type and risk profile)
• Track and report supplier risk and compliance (role of the VMO vs. business lead to be defined by supplier type and risk profile; compliance audit and oversight – compliance organization)
• Regularly assess vendor relationship
Working Conditions:
• Standard office conditions.
Required Education (must have):
• Bachelor's degree
Desired Education (nice to have):
• Master's degree in Business Administration or related area preferred
Required Experience (must have):
• At least 10 years of progressively increasing management experience in operations, sourcing or contract management and oversight
• Experience leading teams of professionals
Desired Experience (nice to have):
• Experience with healthcare is preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (must have):
• Proven track record of negotiating contracts and achieving cost savings.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including proven negotiation skills.
• Ability to make presentations to Senior Leadership.
• Excellent and inclusive management and leadership skills.
• Ability to organize work effectively with strong attention to details.
• Experience with software to manage all aspects of sourcing and procurement and establish meaningful key performance metrics, monitor, and make decisions based on facts and trends.
• Proven experience and skills assisting in the management of subcontract, supplier, and vendor contracts.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build strong relationships with internal clients, and a successful track record of collaboration toward achieving objectives expected.
• Prior experience building and leading high-performance teams.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Language (nice to have):
• Coupa certification is preferred.
