The Database Architect and Administrator is a senior, hands-on lead and a technical point of contact for customers and associated members of the engineering team. The role is responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting complex storage, compute, and backup solutions. The person in this role must have experience

+ Database administration experience across multiple DB technologies, including VMWare Tanzu Greenplum, Postgres, Oracle, and MS SQL

+ System administration experience across multiple technologies (MS, VMWare, Dell, Ansible, RedHat/Linux)

Primary Position Tasks

+ Support engineering team in planning work activities

+ Prioritize work schedules to meet or exceed project timelines and objectives

+ Conduct ‘hands-on’ engineering activities across multiple database technologies and multiple system administration technologies

+ Provide and/or support the development of technical documentation related to support, training, and transitioning

+ Develop and maintain documentation of system policies, procedures, processes, and configurations

+ Demonstrate technical knowledge and consultative skills, while working effectively with customers and Red River team members.

Minimum** **Education/Certification/Experience** **Requirements

+ Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience desired

+ 10-15 Years of Experience supporting enterprise level IT operations

+ 5+ Years of system administration, including analysis, installation, configuration, documentation, and maintenance

+ 5+ Years database administration, including analysis, architecture, backup/restore, documentation and maintenance

+ Strong understanding of security and appropriate and timely remediation

+ Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to operate independently

Ideal Candidates possesses:

+ Experience with VMWare Tanzu Greenplum in a large-scale enterprise

+ Current/active MBI and laptop/PC with the Internal Revenue Service.

+ Familiar with IRS lifecycle, programs (e.g., RRP)

+ Experience in design, build, configure, test, deployment and maintenance of Greenplum version 6 on hundreds of physical Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) accessible over IP4 and IPv6 networks.

+ Installed and applied Greenplum command line and UI based management tooling, including Greenplum command line utilities and Greenplum Command Center (GPCC).

+ Used DBeaver, pgAdmin or other Greenplum and PostgreSQL client utilities.

+ Supported full lifecycle and some level of consulting plus Operations and Maintenance (O&M).
