    ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR FOR FINANCIAL AID DELIVERY, Student Financial Services (SFS), to ensure access and affordability for MIT students and families; oversee the annual financial aid delivery process of external funds to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students; administer the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Direct Loan, and Federal Work-Study Programs; coordinate student employment for the Institute; build a strong, integrated service approach for the delivery of external financial aid from federal, state, and private sources; provide direction to SFS staff responsible for certifying, originating, disbursing, and reconciling external financial aid funds; review, update, and document written policies, procedures, and practices relating to financial aid delivery and student employment; identify innovations that maximize organizational resources and improve the customer experience; and participate in determining financial aid eligibility by serving as a peer reviewer.

    Job Requirements

    REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree; a minimum of seven years of financial aid experience at a higher education institution; expert-level knowledge of the financial aid application, awarding, and delivery processes; direct experience with federal and institutional need analysis methodologies; federal grant and loan management experience, including expert-level knowledge of federal legislation and regulations; proficiency using student information systems (PowerFAIDS preferred); interest in and ability to master new information systems; a strong bias for action; proven history of working effectively in a collaborative role in a highly matrixed management environment; commitment to continuous process improvement; and excellent customer service, communication, and presentation skills; and ability to analyze and interpret complex and multifaceted situations, take full ownership for driving projects, manage resources efficiently, and effectively delegate and prioritize.     Salary range: $88,550- 100,000.

     

    This position is hybrid, with a blend of remote and on-campus work.
