Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
SNY is an Emmy Award winning, multiplatform regional sports network serving millions of homes throughout the New York Metropolitan area and across the country through unparalleled and exclusive coverage of the New York Mets, New York Jets, and all things New York sports.
This Freelance Content Supervisor is responsible for facilitating the planning and execution of content across SNY’s broadcast and digital platforms. This position works in close collaboration with Coordinating Content Producers and Content Producer to support the production of SNY’s television programming, while also a liaison to the digital content team to ensure alignment and consistency. The ideal candidate is a clear and proactive communicator with strong editorial judgement, capable of managing multiple priorities and shifting priorities in a deadline-drive environment.
Responsibilities:
+ Oversee highlights created by Associate Content Producers for Mets, Jets, and SportsNite studio shows.
+ Communicate with Coordinating Content Producers and Content Producers to assign production tasks for studio shows.
+ Assign Associate Content Producers and Editors for nightly studio production.
+ Set and manage records for daily content and ensure smooth editorial workflow.
+ Provide independent support to Associate Content Producers during high-demand periods.
+ Assist Content Coordinators in managing team Zoom availabilities and scheduling.
+ Collaborate with digital teams to assist in the production and distribution of content across platforms.
+ Facilitate the transfer of incoming content for internal production and outgoing content to external media outlets.
+ Import files with various audio and video formats and codecs from FTP and other various media sources.
+ Perform basic editing, clipping, and converting video and still images.
+ Assist the media library team with tasks such as archiving, restoring, deleting, and organizing media files.
+ Manage graphics responsibilities, including converting and storing full-screen, courtesy, and lower third graphics for use in assigned edit rooms.
+ Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
+ Previous experience in live video production; experience as a Highlight Supervisor experience is a plus.
+ Strong knowledge of both local and national sports, with expertise in the New York sports market.
+ Ability to exhibit editorial judgment and knowledge of industry style standards.
+ Exceptional computer skills: Experience AVID Media Composer, Media Central, Capture Manager, and iNEWS is highly preferred.
+ Familiar with collaboration tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco WebEx, Filezilla, and Dropbox.
+ Ability to work well independently and as part of a team, managing complex workflows.

+ Time Management and Adaptability: Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a live broadcast environment.
+ Attention to Detail: High level of precision in overseeing content production and ensuring all materials meet standards.
Location & Time Commitment:
+ This is a freelance, in-person position based at SNY’s headquarters in downtown New York City. The role requires flexibility, with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation:
+ In accordance with applicable NYC law, the estimated hourly rate for this role is $22 -$32 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
