    Position Summary:

EL Bar – Tequila & Mezcal Bar, a subsidiary of City Winery, is launching at the vibrant Pier 57, and we're looking for a dynamic Head/Lead Bartender! If you’re passionate about tequila and mezcal, and have a talent for crafting exceptional cocktails and sharing the rich stories behind every spirit, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

    Overview of Responsibilities:

    + Develop and maintain a captivating selection of tequilas and mezcals, ensuring a diverse and premium offering that will set EL Bar apart.

    + Craft and refine innovative cocktail recipes that showcase the essence of our bar’s offerings and the spirit of Pier 57.

    + Keep our selection fresh and exciting by staying updated on industry trends and new product releases.

    + Ensuring all inventory/ordering is done efficiently and submitted on time

    + Interact with guests, take orders, serve food and beverage, handle transactions, and support guest service needs from beginning to end

    + Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for patrons within standards of City Winery

    + Upsell, increase check average, compete in sales incentives, drive marketing promotions & special events, and promote the City Winery brand

    + Handle payment transactions and maintain accurate cash drawer

    + Adhere to and abide by cash handling procedures as per Company standards

    + Serve wine, beer and liquor in proper proportions and glassware and charging proper prices for beverages

    + Ad hoc duties as assigned

    Your Strengths & Qualifications:

    + A deep knowledge of tequila and mezcal, including production processes, regions, and flavor profiles.

    + Previous experience as a sommelier, spirits expert, or in a similar role.

    + Strong presentation and public speaking abilities, with a flair for storytelling.

    + A genuine passion for educating others and sharing the cultural significance of tequila and mezcal.

    + Certification in spirits or sommelier qualifications is a plus.
