KBR is hiring highly skilled and motivated candidates to join a high-performance team and provide support to Headquarters Space Training and Readiness Command (HQ STARCOM). An active TS//SCI clearance is REQUIRED. As a Weapons and Tactics Specialist, you will provide support for HQ STARCOM leadership at Peterson SFB in Colorado Springs. CO as needed. Office location will be at the Plaza of the Rockies in downtown Colorado Springs.
The work environment is collaborative and dynamic between Government and contract team members. If you desire to be part of an historic event to build out HQ STARCOM from the ground up, this position is for you.
A strong candidate will be able to coordinate weapons and tactics guidance, policy, and procedures.
Responsibilities:
+ Supports the STARCOM Weapons and Tactics Team through involvement in the development of the Space Weapons Instructor/Advanced Instructor Course (WIC/AIC), Test Pilot School/Space Test Course (TPS/STC), Acquisitions Instructor Course (AQIC), Cyber Tactician Course (CTC), and Advanced Studies Group Course (ASG) Concept and Graduate Management Plans. Specifically, the contractor shall review historical program data and documents, prepare updated briefings, documents and Microsoft Excel sheets and review, and provide overall analysis and recommendations for updates to these concepts and plans
+ Supports USSF Mission Focus Working Groups (MFWGS), USSF Weapons and Tactics Conference and USAF Combat Air Forces Weapons and Tactics Conferences (CAF WEPTAC). Specifically, the contractor shall attend these conferences as availability/funding allows and provide subject matter expertise to problem solving and out briefs for specific tactical problems involving space capabilities
+ Performs functions in support of coordination between STARCOM S3TW and HQ USSF Staff, USSF FLDCMs, 328th Weapons Squadron, and subordinate Weapons and Tactics entities. Specifically, the contractor shall provide administrative support to enable communications and task completion through use of email, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
+ Assist and assesses mission training, exercises, mission planning, readiness, and evaluation scenarios and tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP) development
+ Coordinate the STARCOM Tactics Development Program Liaise with HQ USSF, HQ USAF, the USAF Weapon School, lateral commands and subordinate weapon and tactics offices
+ Establish procedures for reviewing and revising tactics manuals and standard operating procedures
+ Conduct Weapon and Tactics Conference planning, briefing, execution, and debriefs
+ Attend sister service weapons and tactics conferences as a space subject matter expert
+ Coordinate Weapons and Tactics Office Staff Assistance Visits
+ Provide inputs on major function working group and tactics development, training, exercise, and evaluation scenarios
+ Coordinate Weapon Instructor Course and Academic Instructor Course student nomination packages
+ Facilitate security documentation and requirements in support of USSF Weapons and Tactics
+ Assist with security program management and coordinating security operations
Required Skills and Experience:
+ 15 years of US Space Force, Space Operations Command, or equivalent experience
+ Experience with Space weapon systems/platforms (e.g., Satellite Communications, Command and Control, Ground/Space Based Missile Warning)
+ Microsoft Office Suite, Access, SharePoint, Windows
+ Experience with providing strategic advice, technical guidance, analysis and recommendations
+ Ability to identify and resolve challenges in a high-tempo, collaborative environment
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
+ Accustomed to professionally interacting with General/Flag officers and senior civilian personnel
+ Ability to meet deadlines and deliverables with minimal guidance
+ Active TS//SCI clearance is MANDATORY with ability to be cleared to Special Access Programs
Preferred Skills and Experience:
+ BA/BS or MA/MS degree or years of experience equivalence
+ Headquarters, Combatant Command or MAJCOM/Field Command experience
+ A graduate of the United States Air Force Weapon School is highly desired
+ Experience working with Special Access Required Programs
Compensation: The salary for this position ranges from approximately $121,000 to $165,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
