Job Summary

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Café Retail Manager to oversee food service operations in a fast-paced cafeteria retail environment within an acute care hospital setting in Charleston, South Carolina.

Relocation Assistance Available

As a Café Manager, you will hold duties related to the supervision of the food service operation of a medium to large volume location. The café manager ensures the standards of excellence are met, supervises associates, and supports the Director with responsibilities such as ordering, inventory, marketing and training.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Manages café operations

+ · Hires, supervises, trains, and coaches associates

+ · Assists with interviewing and hiring

+ · Manage call outs and assign daily staff responsibilities

+ · Manager associates job performance

+ · Responsible for all Café opening/closing responsibilities

+ · Verifies and ensure employee timesheets are updated and correct

+ · Ensures compliance with proper sanitation and cleaning standards

+ · Oversee general maintenance of café food service equipment

+ · Responsible for planning, marketing and executing special events/promotions in the cafe

+ · Ensure signage is accurate & informative.

+ · Updates digital screens with the daily menus & marketing

+ · Oversees all of Mobile, Kiosk & Digital Technology

+ · Completes daily reconciliation of multiple cash banks and reports. Ensure all cash handling procedures are followed.

+ · Completes Annual Benchmarking analysis

+ · Prepares the end of day managers reports

+ · Responsible for all the Front of the House orders & inventory

+ · Operates within the budget and identifies new ways to improve the business.

+ · Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills

+ · Manages time effectively and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines

+ · Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Culinary degree preferred, or A.A. Degree plus related experience

+ Three or more years supervisory experience in food service operations

+ Supervisory experience in a healthcare, senior living, retirement or related environment desirable

+ Knowledge of retail, food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation

+ Leadership, management and coaching skills

+ Communication skills both written and verbal

+ Financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills

+ Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office programs, e-mail, the Internet and other necessary computer programs

+ ServSafe® Certified
