    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Perform stamping and hardening/tempering operations using notch and perforating presses, furnaces, and coil make up equipment. With this equipment, raw steel strip is perforated through the presses then hardened and tempered through the furnaces. Use process control methods to achieve optimum machine settings and perform all machine adjustments. Required to pay close attention to detail and procedures to assure the highest strip quality. Operate all strip preparation equipment as required.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    + Be able to move (push, pull, or otherwise manipulate) materials up to 9016 with assistance and 5016 independently in order to load and unload machines.

    + Load and unload coils on respective machines, visually inspect material before processing, and

     

    follow all operating procedures.

     

    + Make all the necessary operating adjustments to equipment; visually inspect of strip for flatness, freedom from ripples or disto1tion, proper color conditions and conformity to all other specifications.

    + Operate welder to join strip end and anneal strip ends whenever necessary.

    + Weigh finished coils after each operation, load coils onto proper skid.

    + Property and accurately maintain all required documentation.

    + Meet productivity and scrap goals.

    + Perform all quality, process, and product inspections throughout entire coils runs in accordance to procedures and work instructions.

    + Use all measurement instrumentation to inspect and release all blade types.

    + Detect defective material, unusual conditions, operating difficulties, or out of specification

     

    operating settings and repo1t to team leader or supervision.

     

    + Be able to run 1nultiple machines simultaneously.

    + Perform all scheduled preventative maintenance on designated equipment.

    + Maintain equipment and work area in a Clean and Safe condition at all times.

    + Be able to work in a high temperature environment.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    + High School Diploma or GED.

     

    _Salary Range: LG6 - $18.54 - $30.68 per hour, based on experience._
