    GENERAL SUMMARY

    Accountable for providing programmatic oversight and direction for the development, implementation and evaluation of the Health Physics Technician and Chemistry Technician training programs for the benefit of Columbia Generating Station. These training programs are subject to periodic review and accreditation by regulatory agencies that oversee the nuclear industry.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Provide direction and guidance to others for the development, implementation, and coordination of assigned training programs. This position is accountable for ensuring that requirements by INPO and other regulatory agencies are fully met. These programs are subject to periodic regulatory reviews and must meet strict standards to be successfully accredited and allowed to continue.

     

    This position must ensure that all assigned training programs include classroom instruction that meets the standards in the Systematic Approach to Training Model (SAT). This standard is federally mandated and a training professional standard.

     

    Act as an internal performance consultant to management by providing leadership, coaching, and facilitation to help employee development and maximize performance. Collaborate with management to identify areas for performance improvement intervention. Provide recommendations and feedback to senior management to improve overall program performance.

     

    Provide leadership and oversight to other trainers to support their program goals, including mentoring, coaching, and conducting and/or providing input to their performance reviews.

     

    Identify program costs and provide input to the budget process to ensure the success of assigned training programs. Perform ERO, outage, and special assignments, as needed

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Requires a Bachelor’s of Science degree from an accredited college or university and four years of technical experience in an industrial / nuclear power environment of which at least two years as a Health Physics or Chemistry Technician or similar role where Radiation Protection or Chemistry expertise and knowledge is required ; **OR** an Associate’s of Science degree from an accredited college or university with at least six years of technical experience in an industrial / nuclear power environment of which at least two years as a Health Physics or Chemistry Technician or similar role where Radiation Protection or Chemistry expertise and knowledge is required; **OR** a high school diploma or GED and eight years of technical experience in an industrial / nuclear power environment of which at least two years as a Health Physics or Chemistry or similar role where Radiation Protection or Chemistry expertise and knowledge is required.

     

    *This position could be a possible rotation assignment if the selected candidate is interested.

     

    This position is open until filled.

     

    Pay Range

     

    $103,563.00 - $155,345.00 Annual

    Midpoint:

    $129,454.00

     

    Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

     

    Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.

     

    Incentive Compensation

     

    This role may be eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
