Position Summary

This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repair, and service of fleet trucks and heavy equipment .

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

+ Have knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

+ Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

+ Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.

+ Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

+ Basic knowledge of computers .

Task and Work Activities:

+ Ensure all repairs and preventative maintenance is completed according to the manufacture's specifications and guidelines .

+ Provide safe and reliable vehicles upon completion of repairs and preventative maintenance.

+ Repairs or replaces defective parts.

+ Perform servicing company vehicles and equipment according to company procedures as required.

+ Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

+ Lubricates and cleans parts.

+ Identify and report vehicle and machine damage, safety concerns and malfunctions to supervisor.

+ Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system.

+ Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.

+ Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area.

+ Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with drivers, operators, and technicians.

+ Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair.

+ Inspects equipment conditions (wear, alignment, function, etc) and monitors oil flow and temperature observing gauges to measure performance.

Education, Requirements and Experience:

+ Ability to do basic math.

+ Must have a valid Class A CDL driver's license.
