Then you should consider this innovative and disruptive opportunity where you can be a key transformative contributor to a world-class engineering team building and maintaining the DBaaS platform for American Express.
The goal of the team is to continue to build upon a robust platform in support of hosting databases both in the private cloud environment and multiple public clouds.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Develop APIs and self-service interfaces that enable developer-friendly access to cloud databases.
+ Implement observability solutions and telemetry pipelines for monitoring, anomaly detection, and auto-remediation using AI/ML techniques (in collaboration with data science partners).
+ Contribute to the development of reusable Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD templates for consistent infrastructure deployment and configuration.
+ Participate in the buildout of migration frameworks and tools for heterogeneous database transitions (e.g., SQL Server to PostgreSQL, Couchbase to Firestore).
+ Ensure security, compliance, and cost-efficiency are built into all solutions from the ground up.
+ Troubleshoot platform issues and help continuously improve system resiliency and performance.
+ Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code; participate in code reviews and design sessions.
+ Collaborate across product, operations, and enterprise architecture teams to meet business and technology goals.

+ Use cutting-edge technologies to implement a Cloud Database Platform.
+ Understand the current implementation of the database platform and look for improvements to the platform and dependencies.
+ Work with Product Owners to understand upcoming features and ensure proper design.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ 5 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.
+ Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
+ Experience working with cloud platforms and cloud-native services.
+ Familiarity with one or more database platforms (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
+ Knowledge of Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
+ Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
+ Exposure to AI/ML or anomaly detection frameworks is a strong plus.
+ Understanding of secure, scalable software development best practices.
+ Strong problem-solving skills, with a passion for delivering reliable and developer-centric solutions.

Qualifications
Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually bonus benefits
