    Position Overview

The Production Control Planner is an integral part of the Production Planning & Control (PPC) group and a critical part of the Sales, Inventory and Operation Planning (SIOP) process, not only providing day-to-day production planning through the life of the aircraft visit but also providing detailed input into the overall production Master Plan used in the SIOP reviews.

The Production Control Planner reports directly to the Leader of Production, Planning & Control with a dotted line to the Project Managers. This role is an essential planning and control partner to the production teams that are executing the work.

This position is part planner, part controller and part methods. While this role can be extremely tactical during execution it does require a broader strategic view for planning and control, working with the production team to find the optimum flows and production metrics for that program.

All of this translates into a very detailed and extensive task and responsibility matrix for which the successful candidate will be trained and mentored by the Manager, PPC during their initial training phase. But as a summary:

    1. Develop and maintain the detailed project plan (flow), keeping it real-time and up to date with all non-routine scope identified during primary inspection and execution.

    2. Work closely with production in developing this detailed plan to ensure it is indeed a plan they can execute. This requires a strong understanding of the MRO production process.

    3. Using this plan, be able to identify critical path items and escalate any parts or work which appear to be driving span out beyond commitment dates. Communicate these to the Project Manager, the Manager, PPC as well as the appropriate Supply Chain Manager if it is parts or tooling related.

    4. Ensure the production team is holding to plan and delivery, escalating deviations where appropriate.

    5. Continually investigate production data to ensure labor hours are being properly clocked and Time & Material (T&M) hours are being raised where appropriate to contract.

    6. Monitor T&M submittals and ensure timely approvals from the customer reps.

    7. Ensure the detailed plan is accurately reflected and loaded in the HAECO Americas production management systems.

    8. Work with the production team to drive plan adherence above 85% and unplanned work below 35%.

    9. Maintain a daily log of project issues or deviations, whether by HAECO or by customer.

    10. Work with the Customer Account Manager (CAM) to gain a strong understanding of the contract as it pertains to production and assist the production team in maximizing HAECO’s position.

    11. Monitor and ensure program key performance indicators (KPI’s) are on track and within targets (e.g., timely closure/settlement, post dock completions, etc.).

    12. Support the Project Manager and CAM in preparing material for the periodic Customer Reviews.
