    Komatsu is a world leading manufacturer of construction, mining, forestry, and heavy industrial equipment and has an opening for a Vice President of Sales for our East Region Company Owned Dealership.

     

    Job Overview

     

    The Vice President of Sales will work in collaboration with senior leadership to develop and drive the short-term and long-term strategies to achieve targeted goals in the heavy construction equipment marketplace. This position provides strategic leadership to grow, develop and drive profitable sales and rental revenue for the company. The Vice President of sales shall have strong leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of the market, competitive landscape, and industry trends.

     

    Key Job Responsibilities

     

    + Establish, implement, and communicate the strategic direction of the department that will elevate business performance and drive growth.

    + Communicate and cross-functionally work across all business groups.

    + Drive performance by reviewing and understanding financial performance metrics and KPI’s while driving accountability through the business.

    + Lead, develop and initiate sales programs with OEM partners to drive revenue and market share growth.

    + Manage the sales department’s opportunity pipeline and unit forecast reporting.

    + Establish an annual operating plan and financial budget for the department.

    + Build and develop talent capability within the department by establishing individual development plans and coaching team members to achieve professional development goals.

    + Identify and implement marketing plans to create customer awareness and brand preference.

    + Participate in industry associations meetings and trade shows.

    + Work with Accounting to resolve past due and/or disputed account receivables.

    + Gather market intelligence and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current market conditions, competition, pricing, and competitive positioning.

    + Ensure that department members are following company safety policies, procedures and best practices to drive a zero-harm culture.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, Marketing, or equivalent education / experience required.

    + Working knowledge of construction equipment dealership business model.

    + Fifteen years’ experience managing a retail capital equipment sales organization.

    + Strong analytical skills: Ability to read and analyze dealer financial statements and related reports to make data and fact-based decisions and recommendations.

    + Effective communicator: successful candidate must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present in small or large groups.

    + Knowledge of dealer business systems, CRM, on-line quoting tools, Internet based software and market data systems (Construct Connect, Rouse, EDA).

    + Strong negotiation and communication skills.
