Job Description
Responsibilities:
Serving as a core member of a team supporting applications associated with Financial Crimes, engineer will perform analysis of requirements, design, code and test applications based on the business needs. Engineer will coordinate with multiple teams within the bank as well as to third party vendors throughout the lifecycle of the project. Engineer will participate in production releases and also provide on-call support based on the roster.
+ Performs hands-on software development and testing, typically in Java based applicatios and vendor products.
+ Creates and delivers low maintenance, high reliability code to meet business and customer needs
+ Driving consistent development practices - tools and common components; developing deep understanding of integration with other systems and platforms within the supported domains
+ Responsible for the design, build, test and implementation phases, as well as ensuring adherence to technical standards
+ Supports integration and user acceptance testing efforts
+ Reviews test scripts; aligns wider testing strategy with Quality Assurance Managers
+ Ensures the quality of deliverables through in-depth requirement/user story analysis within the technical architecture
+ Works with architecture experts to ensure solutions support the business and IT strategic plan
+ Provides estimates for design, build, test and implementation phases
+ Updates program specifications and prepares both project and implementation documentation
+ Prepares code for production
+ May support the design, configuration and integration of third-party software products
+ Escalates, provides feedback and proposes changes to program/implementation specifications
+ Identifying exciting opportunities for adopting new technologies to solve existing needs and predicting future challenges
+ Performing ongoing refactoring of code, utilizing visualization and other techniques to fast track concepts, and delivering continuous improvement
+ Working with product managers to prioritize features for ongoing and upcoming sprints.
+ Working with technical product managers in assisting with planning for upcoming projects
+ Identifying exciting opportunities for adopting new technology to solve existing needs and predicting future challenges
+ Mentoring new engineers both to onshore and offshore developers
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
+ Five to six years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills/Experience:
+ Expert-level Coding Skills in Java, ReactJS, Linux shell scripts including frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot and Hibernate
+ Expert-level database skills in writing SQL queries, coding Stored Procedures and performing data fixes in relational databases (Oracle or SQL Server)
+ Functional Testing experience, including ability to create, maintain and execute both manual and automated tests
+ DevOps capabilities - containers, cloud, automation, security, configuration management, CI/CD pipeline using Cloudbees Jenkins
+ Experience in building and configuring applications using Docker and hosting them in cloud such as Kubernetes or Azure.
+ Extensive knowledge in modeling and application design and architecture
+ Expert knowledge in programming knowledge, IT/Software quality assurance, system testing tools and system/application testing and implementation
+ Strong understanding of Information Management
+ Extensive knowledge in product/vendor management and change control
+ Experience working in Agile Software Development (Scrum or Kanban)
+ Open, honest, collaborative and clear intra-team communication skills
+ Entirely self-directed, can solve business problems from inception to implementation- can solve business problems without explicit direction
+ Creative, flexible, and willing to continuously change, evolve, and improve software development processes
+ Strong understanding of system and network architecture
+ Ability to identify, resolve, and retest defects
+ Expert skills in service virtualization, test case modeling, and test data management tools and processes
+ Leads by example; providing support and mentoring as needed to ensure sufficient skill, knowledge and effectiveness in the development and testing process
+ Demonstrated enterprise-level collaboration, system architecture design, echnical leadership and direction
+ Demonstrated mentorship of more junior resources in technical and business topics
+ Ability to analyze features to deliver solutions that meet business needs
+ Ability to follow policy requirements related to documentation and other processes
+ Strong time management skills and communication/leadership skills
+ Experience and domain knowledge in Banking, Financial Crimes, Risk Management and tools such as Firco or equivalent

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00 - $154,990.00
