Primary Purpose
Transmission & Substation SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) Engineering is responsible for the SCADA Architecture inside the substation and making sure quality data gets to the designated authority. Position is responsible for working on various projects that include SCADA scope. This includes but is not limited to project scoping/design, print review, point list/setting creation, supporting TCE during project commissioning and supporting other groups throughout the company. In addition to these primary responsibilities, SCADA Engineers are provided opportunities for leadership and professional development: Lead Engineer for Project Design; Manage and Coordinate Databases; Contribute to Industry Working Groups and Committees; Drive Execution of Initiatives Requiring Interdepartmental Coordination; and Continual Enhancement of the Engineering Skillset.
Primary Duties
+ Assists experienced engineers in performing well-defined engineering assignments exercising independent discretion; (e.g. Collect data, perform analysis, interpret results, & draw conclusions) (60%)
+ Assists in the performance of complex engineering assignments.(e.g. Analyze and interpret the results of power flows and perform electrical tests, and analyze non-specific and ambiguous results) (20%)
+ Assists with technical consultation, plan developments and recommendations for customer and company systems and processes; (e.g. Verify and validate studies, blueprints, or designs against accepted engineering principles and practices) (10%)
+ Evaluates effectiveness of current technical systems and processes. Participates on teams; (e.g. Design high voltage transmission and distribution circuits, meeting all engineering standards and criteria) (10%)

+ Provides technical assistance in support of others.
+ Applies technical knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in a technical field (non-engineer) (1) or equivalent relevant education / experience (See Section Below) (2) AND 0-2 years field experience in engineering, construction, or applicable utility experience (1) Examples of technical fields (non-engineer) include Engineering Technology, Electronics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, etc. (2) Relevant education / experience is knowledge and skills that may be acquired through job experiences or education programs related to those acquired through a formal technical degree program. Examples include experience gained in a military role applicable to electric power distribution, completion of a journey-level electrician program (e.g., overhead / underground electrician, electrical mechanic), or completion of a company-sponsored technical education program (e.g., Elements of Electrical Engineering (E3) series). The equivalent relevant education / experience is in addition to the position's minimum experience requirements.
+ Ability to analyze and interpret electrical and mechanical systems.
+ Knowledge and ability to apply problem-solving approaches.
+ Knowledge of construction, operations or engineering principles and practices.
+ Limited knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform routine assignments for a specific discipline installations, or service.
+ 1-3 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree

+ Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $60,000.00/Yr. – $82,500.00/Yr.
