Job Description
Required Skillset:
AS or BS Degree in an engineering discipline (or equivalent Majors in: Controls and Computer Control Systems, Computer Science, Mechatronic Engineering, Automation engineering, etc.), or 5+ years experience in Control Systems Design and PLC, or equivalent
Implementation (Siemens, Omron preferred) or equivalent
Human Machine Interface (HMI / GUI Proface, WinCC, Ignition)
Proficiency creating detailed electrical and fluid schematics in CAD - (EPLAN required)
Structured Text (IEC 61131-3) programming skill
Day to Day:
Program and debug structured text and ladder logic code on multiple PLC controller platforms (Siemens TIA Portal and Omron Sysmac Studio)
Create intuitive operator touchscreen interfaces using Siemens WinCC / Proface / Weintek EasyBuilder and SCADA dashboards screens using Ignition
Create robust programs and sequences to control complex, multi-station machinery to perform processes such as material pick and place, dispense, roll to roll, welding, testing and material transport
Set up and tune servo drives and VFDs for fast and smooth operation
Participate in initial equipment conceptual development and carefully balance product specifications, process requirements, layout complexity, cost, and lead-time limits
Design and implement control reliable safety systems for safeguarding robots, gantries, conveyors, and other high-volume manufacturing equipment as per codes and standards
Manage electrical cabinet builds, field wiring, pneumatic and fluid plumbing
Manage suppliers during specification, design, buyoff and installation of automated manufacturing equipment
Develop & maintain proper documentation of all electrical equipment and associated procedures, making updates as required
